CENTER FOR ARCHITECTURE & URBAN DESIGN - LOS ANGELES
The design proposal for the new Architecture Center for Los Angeles (CALA) aims to establish a significant presence for the AIA in the city by expanding its services and strengthening its relationship with the local community. The proposed design includes the AIA Los Angeles headquarters and the A+D Museum, creating a unique architectural hub that offers specialized services to professionals and fosters public discourse on architectural issues. The proposal features two distinctive volumes, separating the AIA office and the museum, connected by a series of bridges that facilitate interaction between the two spaces. Additionally, the proposal emphasizes the integration of sustainable technology as a core design concept, incorporating advanced features such as a state-of-the-art heat exchange system within the building's facade.
